The Station was opened for use in November 2005, replacing the previous one at the site of which Galeria Krakowska shopping mall was created. Building the station was a part of implementing the conceptual-architectural undertaking called the Kraków Communication Centre.

The complex range of services and options to choose the means of transport enabled the Coach Stations of Małopolska company to improve the comfort of travel for the Passengers using the coach services. Due to its location, including the limitations related to the built-up area in the city centre, as well as its specific operations, the MDA Bus Station in Kraków has no parking spaces within the station. Accessing the site is forbidden to ensure the flow of traffic. However, the Clients may use the car park available to the public, located directly above the PKP Kraków Main Railway Station as well as the car park located under the flyover in ul. Wita Stwosza.
